The Queen: Michelle

The Queen: Michelle
I am 28 years old. Still a princess but the queen of my family. Spoiled beyond belief. Lucky and truely blessed. A lover. A crafter. A mother. A wife. A friend. This is me.

My King: Junior

My King: Junior
The LOVE of my life! He completes me and balances me out in every way. He's a workaholic. He's loud, blunt, and crazy. He drinks Monsters like his life depends on it. Above all he is the greatest Daddy I could ever ask for, for my children. And he treats me like his Queen (and he calls me that too).

The Model Child: Diego Ray

The Model Child: Diego Ray
9 years old. My only boy. He is the epitome of the perfect child. He is so responsible and independent. Wise beyond his years. He is laughter, he is love, he is compassion, he is simply amazing. He keeps me grounded and reminds me always that I am beautiful. He is a natural born leader and takes care of the household and family better than me!

The Diva: Alayna Danae

The Diva: Alayna Danae
7 years old. She is drama. My fashionista for sure with a style all her own. Sensitive and loving when she wants to be. Thumbsucker. My biggest headache because she is the most like me. She is the only one who can cause me to become uncontrollably angry. She loves to dance. She loves to model. My bookworm and most academic.

The Wild Child: Arielle Marie-Grace

The Wild Child: Arielle Marie-Grace
4 years old. This one is something else. She is pure comedy. Never a dull moment with her crazy antics. She is also the crybaby. She does things her own way. She knows what she wants and isn't afraid to be cute to get it. My Disney loving pal. So girly. Her favorite color is pink. Loves Rapunzel. Will wear a dress every single day. Can't leave the house without a bow in her hair. She refuses.

The Munchkin: Atalie Belle

The Munchkin: Atalie Belle
2 years old. My sweet baby. She loves her Mommy above all else. She is a cuddlebug for sure. The calmest most well behaved baby ever! But she has TONS of energy. She is so small and petite. She loves to sing and dance. She so SO ready for ballet and has yet to even step foot in a class. She loves Minnie Mouse and watching Disney Jr. She is hilarious and talks way too much.

We Need Change

I take my right to vote very seriously. This is my 2nd time voting in a Presidential Election. So yesterday as soon as we dropped Diego off at school we headed to my polling place prepared to face long lines. It wasn't as bad as I had thought. There was coffee, cookies, and tea. And they even handed out coupons for free chicken at Chick-Fil-A. Last time I only voted for the President and that was it. This time... I actually have watched some of the debates and read up on the propositions. I felt very informed while voting, knowing that I did my part in educating myself on the issues at hand and making my decisions.

I did vote for Obama. I feel that he would do a great job as President. I guess we will all find out in time.

Jr and I voted at different polling places because he was still registered with his mom's address. Here we are with our stickers that I was so excited to have!

Jr also voted. It was his first time. He was actually eligible last election but didn't. Neither of us are much into politics nor do we understand it all. But I honestly think that every vote counts. He even asked me why it was so important for me to vote. And my answer was simply this... We should be happy that we live in a free country, a country that allows us to have a voice and a say in who we choose to run our country. It's an important decision that other countries don't have the opportunity to make. And being a woman makes me even more adamant about voting. Not too long ago woman did not have the opportunity to vote, just as it was unthinkable for a black man to be elected President. Women fought for the opportunity to be looked at as equals and that's what I think when I see Obama. Not the color of his skin, but the fact that in this day and age everyone should be given an equal chance in this country. It's an honor to live here and being a part of making history happen is very important to me.

I think I changed his mind about the whole voting process now. He followed the election the rest of the day with me... and together we learned so much about the process of it all.

I was overjoyed when they announced the winner! I literally felt so many emotions at one time. We celebrated with our friends, who invited us to dinner at their home so we could all watch together. A sense of relief for a positive outlook was felt in the room. Even Diego at the age of 5 followed the whole the thing from start to finish with us. It's amazing what he learns from watching the news.

We all listened in silence as Sen. John McCain gave his speech here in his state. He was at the Arizona Biltmore which isn't too far from us. Although he did get the electoral votes from Arizona it wasn't enough to win and I think he gave a good speech. As much as him and Obama have disagreed throughout this, in my opinion he was very gracious and humble and said only great things about Obama.

All in all I am very proud to have had the privilege to vote. It's a right that I was born with and I will die with. Yesterday was a monumental day for Americans. We have elected our first African American President. I for one am very excited to have been a part of this and proud to have voted for Barack Obama.I have faith that Obama is the man that could turn this country around or at least get us out of the mess that the Bush Administration has left him with!

Yeap! It's going to be a tough one. I saw on the news today that Obama is already creating a plan to turn our economy around. I don't know how long this will take. We'll need to be patient. But I just have a feeling that this man will prove to be inspirational to many.

May God guide his steps and decisions.
