Last Tuesday Night

Alayna starts vomiting all over the place... non-stop. (Sorry that's the way the hectic cycle started) She has no fever, so as a Mom who has dealt with this millions of times... I just wait it out. Rush her to the toilet every 30 minutes, bathe her at least once an hour cuz she doesn't make it, and don't feed her or give her anything to drink. After 8 hours of no improvement and looking at my miserable little daughter we finally decide to take her to the ER. I usually try and not make that trip... it's a lot of waiting for them to tell you she's got a virus. I knew that already. But I was mainly worried about her dehydrating because of all she vomited... 8 hours straight! And she couldn't even keep water down.
Luckily they pulled her back right away... a first!
It was the middle of the night, we were exhausted, as was Alayna and poor baby couldn't sleep. It was horrible.
They give her something to help with the nausea. After about an hour they give her a Popsicle to see if she could hold it down. She did. Then we gave her juice. Held that down for the most part. And we were sent packing... barely escaping an overnight stay and having to put her on IVs. Yes! Thank God she held it all down. After that we gave her pedialyte and she did better.
It was still a long night and I only got 3 hours of sleep.

Arielle decides to start crawling and is no wanting to get into everything. Oh and she crawls backwards not forwards. Oh what talented children I have!
*Still had a long day taking care of Alayna. She didn't vomit anymore. But was tired and a little feverish. Again only 3 hours of sleep.

Thanksgiving morning. We all woke up early. As my Dad and Jr cleaned the house and organized, my mom and I did the cooking. Ok Mom cooked... I was just the one who pulled out ingredients and tasted everything along the way. Oh and ran the errands.
Biggest surprise? My uncle Jaime (one of my mom's 3 brothers) showed up from California! I didn't see him many times growing up. He did live with us a few years until we moved here to Arizona... but I was five. (Just last year we reconnected with him and got to see my 2 out of 3 of my cousins) It was literally a shock to see him! Made my mom cry. Yeah everyone couldn't believe it. He just showed up at our house unannounced. It was good though.
And Arielle looked cute in the Thanksgiving accessories that her Nina mailed to her! Thanks Becca! I had the cutest, plumpest, butterball turkey!
And then I sat with my mom and Jr and got our game plan ready for black friday shopping. We've been doing this for 4 years now. After coordinating with my sister in law Jennifer too I decided to go to bed.

I slept 1 hour. I was so exhausted from the past 2 night that I could fall asleep... and when I finally did... Jen was knocking for us.
We jumped out of bed and headed to Walmart. It was Jen's first time (oh and it was hilarious) so we had to teach her our strategies. We shop for the kids so thank goodness we didn't have to stand in the electronics lines. It's pure mayhem. We got everything we wanted and then some.
We headed to a few more stores and had all our Xmas shopping pretty much done is less than 3 hours. Went home and had a big breakfast.

Later that evening we all got ready to head over to my Dad's favorite karaoke spot. A lot of our family was going to have dinner. I had slept ALL DAY trying to catch up on sleep. And I guess since my body finally had time to rest... I caught Alayna's virus. it was horrible. I tried to not let it bother me and I got ready and went anyway. I should have known not to go. I was sick the entire time and left after only an hour. Jr drove me home and dropped me off before heading back.
I did get a few pictures before I left though:
I had a fever and was sick all night. But I slept.

Wow, that was a long read but just so you know, I did not clean all the credit goes to your mom and Jr. Since I did not get sick I had a great time.
Oh sounds wonderful EXCEPT for the sick baby and you getting sick. That's awful. This year, I didn't go shopping for the first time in years. My daughters love to drag me out.. This year, I went out on Saturday afternoon. Way too tiring. Walmart has those carts so I rode in one Sunday and finished up the Grand kids! THAT is a relief! No good breakfast waiting for me though! Looks like a wonderful Family Thanksgiving!
