The Queen: Michelle

The Queen: Michelle
I am 28 years old. Still a princess but the queen of my family. Spoiled beyond belief. Lucky and truely blessed. A lover. A crafter. A mother. A wife. A friend. This is me.

My King: Junior

My King: Junior
The LOVE of my life! He completes me and balances me out in every way. He's a workaholic. He's loud, blunt, and crazy. He drinks Monsters like his life depends on it. Above all he is the greatest Daddy I could ever ask for, for my children. And he treats me like his Queen (and he calls me that too).

The Model Child: Diego Ray

The Model Child: Diego Ray
9 years old. My only boy. He is the epitome of the perfect child. He is so responsible and independent. Wise beyond his years. He is laughter, he is love, he is compassion, he is simply amazing. He keeps me grounded and reminds me always that I am beautiful. He is a natural born leader and takes care of the household and family better than me!

The Diva: Alayna Danae

The Diva: Alayna Danae
7 years old. She is drama. My fashionista for sure with a style all her own. Sensitive and loving when she wants to be. Thumbsucker. My biggest headache because she is the most like me. She is the only one who can cause me to become uncontrollably angry. She loves to dance. She loves to model. My bookworm and most academic.

The Wild Child: Arielle Marie-Grace

The Wild Child: Arielle Marie-Grace
4 years old. This one is something else. She is pure comedy. Never a dull moment with her crazy antics. She is also the crybaby. She does things her own way. She knows what she wants and isn't afraid to be cute to get it. My Disney loving pal. So girly. Her favorite color is pink. Loves Rapunzel. Will wear a dress every single day. Can't leave the house without a bow in her hair. She refuses.

The Munchkin: Atalie Belle

The Munchkin: Atalie Belle
2 years old. My sweet baby. She loves her Mommy above all else. She is a cuddlebug for sure. The calmest most well behaved baby ever! But she has TONS of energy. She is so small and petite. She loves to sing and dance. She so SO ready for ballet and has yet to even step foot in a class. She loves Minnie Mouse and watching Disney Jr. She is hilarious and talks way too much.

Mother's Day

I have to say that this has been my BEST Mother's Day to date! Previous years Junior has made sure to buy me nice gifts and such but we don't do much. Last year my Mom took me, my sister, and my sister-in-law on a girl's day out... we went on a shopping trip and each got an outfit courtesy of my Ma... lunch, we got nails done... you know... girl's day! While all the guys stayed home with the kids. It was really nice and fun... but this year my kids understand more what Mother's Day is. And that makes it more worthwhile.
It all started when Diego came home last week and told me...

D: Mom, Mother's Day is Sunday.
Me: I know!
D: I am happy because it's a day when we show our Mommies how much we love and respect them... (He uses the word respect a lot these days)
Me: Yes it is.
D: And I have a list... look Mommy...
(He hands me a piece of paper)

Me: Wow that's an awesome list... (I get cut off by Diego as he snatches it away...)
D: Okay that's enough... it's what I am buying for a special Mom... BUT it's not you! (Totally trying to cover up that the list is for me)
Me: Oh ok...
D: Because this Mom is the specialist Mom ever...

The next day I go to pick Diego up after school. But I was 10 minutes early so I walked over to his classroom instead of waiting by the parking lot as usual. When I walked in all the kids were cleaning up after an Mother's Day project they had made. Diego ran up to me clutching a vase made out of a gatorade bottle covered in tissue paper squares.

D: (in a panic) Mom here's your Mother's Day gift!
Me: Aww thanks sweetheart! But where is my flower? (After noticing all the other kids had a orange tissue paper flower in theirs)
D: (on the verge of tears) Well you see I was running... really fast... and it flew out... and... I... don't know where it went! (panic had set in)
Me: Calm down, calm down it's okay! You can make me another one...
D: (cutting me off) NO! We are cleaning up and I don't have time!
Me: Baby I have tissue paper at home and pipe cleaners... when we get there you can make me another one... it's okay!
D: Oh okay! (As he runs off to collect his things with a huge smile on his face)

And yes... he did make me a new one once we got home... ain't it pretty?!

Come Sunday morning there is a knock at my bedroom door. Half asleep I open it and there is my Mom with Diego, Alayna, and Arielle yelling "Happy Mother's Day!" It was the best awakening ever! They were so excited to hug and kiss me. Diego was quick to apologize for not buying me anything. But I told him not to worry about it. Then he turns and says, "Is it because your best gift is me?" Duh of course it is!!

We got ready, in swimwear, to go to my Mother-in-law's house for a swimming and eating. The kids were so happy and Alayna kept saying "This is the best Mother's Day ever!" On the way there Junior gives me a little gift. I almost cried reading the little card. It was short and sweet. He's the best. Except when he laughed at me because I almost cried...

So the day was spent swimming and eating as planned. Diego didn't get out of the pool once, the whole time we were there. Alayna swam most of the day but got out to eat and take a nap. Arielle got in and hated it. She layed with her head on mine or Junior's shoulder the entire time. But she did last an hour in the water. It was very relaxing.

My nephew Luis (him and his twin sister are 4 weeks younger than Arielle)

My nephew Ducky... Hey he can stand on water!

Diego mid-flight. The boys had so much fun having Junior do this...

Arielle watching everyone swim... NOT wanting to get in...

After the pool we went inside where Junior gave me a pedicure. Which involved him rubbing my feet and painting one set of my toes brown and leaving the in the teal color I've had for a while... Men! LOL But I can't complain... It was nice.

Once we got home the kids were exhausted but it was a little early for bed so I needed a distraction to keep them up a while longer so we had a "Ice Pop Picnic" in our front yard. Or at least that's what I called it. And for the next 2 hours we played outside. Even my nieces and nephew came over and joined the fun... and to visit my Mom of course.

Once the kids were in bed. I made my favorite dinner... Teriyaki Chicken with White Rice and Jr and I ate together. In PEACE! Ahh. Talk about relaxing. I don't know when was the last time I sat through a whole meal without being interrupted or having to get up.

The whole day the kids told me at least a million times that they loved me... and all day as we were doing different things Alayna would come hug me and say... "This is the best mother's day ever!" So Mother's Day isn't for me... it's for them. Because without them I wouldn't be a Mother. And I am so glad that I am.
