Vernix caseosa, a greasy white substance made of lanugo, oil and dead skin cells (yum) now coats baby's skin, shielding it from the amniotic fluid. (Picture yourself after a nine-month bath, and the need for protection makes sense.) You might actually get to see the vernix at birth, especially if baby is premature.
How far along? 19 weeks
Total Weight Gain: I don't own a scale so I don't weigh myself weekly... Up 5lbs until my next appointment.
Maternity Clothes? All the time!
Stretch Marks? None new
Sleep? Sleep is still good. I am just dreaming a lot more...
Best Moment This Week: Finding out we're having a girl! And starting to plan the baby shower!
Movement: I am still only feeling little things here and there. Nothing major.
Food Cravings: Hot wings. Anything hot actually. As much chili or salsa on my food as possible.
Gender: It's a Girl... Miss Atalie Belle!
Labor Signs: None yet... Way too early
Belly Button - In
What I miss: Going somewhere and not having to pee a million times while out.
What I am looking forward to: Decorating for Xmas... not baby related but that's what I am looking forward to.
Weekly Wisdom: I got none this week... too tired to feel wisdomly.
Milestones: We found out the sex! Even though Jr is not convinced... but there was NOTHING in between the legs sticking out...
